Biography

Viva Santana is the top Santana Tribute act in North America. The band, led by guitarist/vocalist Arnie Vilches, was formed in 1988 in San Diego CA. Viva Santana has been entertaining audiences all across the United States and Mexico for the past 30 years. They were one of the very few tribute acts to hit the music scene back in the 80's and 90's along with Randy Hansen's Hendrix Tribute and Beatlemania. This band is a 7 piece high energy concert band that faithfully covers all of Carlos Santana's music from the late 60's through today. You'll feel like you're back at Woodstock or your favorite outdoor arena dancing and groovin' to the music. Close your eyes and you'll swear you're at a Santana concert. Members of Viva have toured and recorded with a few rock stars over the years. Guitarist Arnie Vilches toured with lead singer/guitarist Mark Farner of "Grand Funk Railroad", Singer/ Songwriter Bill Champlin from the band "Chicago" and Grammy award winning artist Bobby Kimball, the Original lead singer of "ToTo" just to name a few. Viva Santana has attracted many great musicians who came to sit in with the band, including members of Santana, Malo and El Chicano. Experience Viva Santana, you'll be glad you did!
