Biography
The Bad Dogs is a rocking blues power trio playing the finest blues around. The Bad Dogs play “water tight” classic Blues, originals and have added Classic Rock, Funk, Soul and R&B from audience requests to spice up the mix. Timothy Pyle and Jerry Olson have played in various bands for over ten years. Tim met Mark while subbing for a local blues band. Mark played drums at the time; the two hit it off, and all got together to form the Bad Dogs for the So. Cal. Blues Competition in 2019. The onset of COVID-19 halted the band’s momentum. We all know what the epidemic has done to the music scene.
The Bad Dogs are: Mark McKinney: Vocals and Bass - From his humble beginnings in Porterville California, international vocalist extraordinaire, Mark’s singing talent have entertained audiences all around the world from Mainland China, Hong Kong and all through Europe, South America, Singapore to Australia. Combined with his skills on the Bass, Mark is a double threat. Jerry Olson: Drummer and Musicologist - The consummate drummer’s drummer, Jerry has worked on numerous projects with many influential session and performance musicians, from the likes of Charlie Musslewhite, Lowell Fulsom, Roy Gains, Coco Montoya, Canned Heat, Robert Cray Band, The Coasters, Frankie Ford, Bowzer of Sha Na Na, and The Drifters. Jerry covers a wide spectrum of styles that spans all the way from Emmy Lou Harris to Lawrence Welk. Jerry just keeps grooving and is always in the pocket. Timothy J Pyle: Guitarist/Singer/Song Writer - Tim became interested in music at an early age and started playing in his first band; writing original music at the age of nine with some of his grammar school pals. Tim studied music at Albertson College. After the first year of college, he got an offer to play guitar for Salem Mass, a hard rock band in the Pacific Northwest. In Los Angeles, Tim has worked with various live bands and session work as a hired gun for assorted projects; including writing and recording all the original music for the documentary film Dancing Like Home. Tim is currently writing and recording at Tribal Knowledge Productions, his studio in West Hills, California.
